AGMD Open Discussion Series: The Impact of Digestive Motility Disorders on Self-Esteem

The Association of Gastrointestinal Motility Disorders (AGMD) will be presenting our ‘Let’s Talk’ series, with this month’s topic being ‘The Impact of Digestive Motility Disorders on Self-Esteem.’

Please join us as we discuss how digestive motility disorders can influence one’s confidence and self-esteem. Topics may include, but are not limited to: coping with unpredictable symptoms, social isolation, strained or lost relationships, not being believed, body image, job/career loss, financial burden, and losing one’s former self as a result of chronic illness.

We invite you to share your questions, concerns, personal experiences, and tips as we give and receive much-needed support.

Our meetings are a wonderful way to learn, meet others who share similar problems, and get much needed support.

During our program, we focus on educational topics related to digestive motility disorders and the various issues that are important to patients as well as family members. We also invite individuals to introduce themselves and talk about their own digestive motility problems, share their experiences, pose questions and concerns and offer any tips that they may have found beneficial in their lives.
